Feedback

Hello!     Thank you for deciding to try this new dry eye device and I hope it may help improve your symptoms like it did me.  Please see below for a series of topics/questions in which I am looking to gain feedback on.   Please keep these questions in mind as you use the device as well as any other thoughts/suggestions that you may have.  Please contact me with any issues/questions/feedback at my email or my phone number.  I would also request that you contact me privately with any feedback prior to posting publicly (good or bad) as I may be able to assist or give additional advice.   I will check in at some point as well.

Note:  I may have not made this clear in the instructions but the entire goggle is water resistant (front and back) and can be placed under the faucet to easily wash away any soap remnants.  Just ensure that water does not get on the power switch or power bank.  Also, clean tap water is fine for washing the device or filling up the water lattice in each eyecup.

Feedback Questions:

Temperature:

1.     How does the general temperature feel (to your eyes) of the device when using during the initial first few uses?  Too hot, not hot enough? If too hot, have you tried without adding water (or adding less) to the goggle’s plastic lattice? Users have reported that after a few treatment sessions their eyes begin to acclimate to the moist heat.

2.     How does temperature feel looking straight ahead versus looking down?

3.     After using the device at least a few times, do you feel you have more adjusted to the hot temperature?  Can you start to accommodate the hottest temperature (tilting head downwards) better than the very first time?  Can you keep your eyes open the whole treatment?  (The higher temperatures (while looking downward) will likely be more effective at removing solidified gland contents)

4.     How would you compare the temperature/experience of the Steamgoggle to a microwaveable compress. Same question for a USB powered mask?

5.     What is your opinion of the temperature of the device as far as touching it when the heater is on?  Do you think it is overly hot to the touch or is it acceptable when handling the device for a use-at-home item?

6.     Do both eyecups feel that they are giving about the same temperature?

Usage:

7.     Is there anything about setting up the device that could be better or explained better?

8.     Does the device defog enough to be able to look at your phone/tv or read during the treatment etc..?   Note: Only the bottom section of the lens will defog.

9.     After a single treatment, do you have any redness on your eyelids or surrounding area?  If so, how long does it last?  Goggle marks?  If so, how long do they last? Is the goggle placed somewhat loosely around your head?  Any more redness after using device for back to back treatment sessions?

10.  Have you tried any forced blinks during the treatment to try to help dislodge stagnant meibum in oil glands?  Any feeling of grittiness immediately after a forced blink? (this is what happened to me occasionally) (sometimes it only occurred after using device for 2-3 treatments sessions in a row).

11.  Have you tried multiple treatments back to back?

12.  Have you powered the device using the power bank?  If so, do you feel there is advantage with this over plugging it into the wall?  If the device is sold with a portable powerbank, do you think a wall plug would even need to be included?

13.  Do you feel it is easier to fill the lattice with water using a nearby sink or by using the included squirt bottle?  (As in, is it worth including the water squirt bottle?)

14.  The second squirt bottle is included to hold a mild cleanser (I use baby soap) and make it easy to wash your eyes afterwards.  Any oils that do come out should be rinsed off soon after treatment to reduce bacteria load.   Do your eyes have any stickiness feeling after using the device prior to washing?

Symptoms:

15.  Any improvement or change in symptoms – Short term or long term?

16.  Do your eyes feel any different when waking up in the morning after starting to use the device?  As in do they feel stickier or less sticky than normal?  More or less buildup of morning eye gunk?

Please contact me with any questions,

 Thanks,
